Ten of Wands
Archetype: A man goes bent under the weight of ten wands, the symbols of will, intention, and attention, focused on his destiny. An act of utmost will and clarity of intentions was necessary to keep his intention and attention focused on the goal, which is now in sight. The moment when his mission is accomplished is almost here. Because all his energy is focused on the now, this image does not show what follows.
Lesson: Ten of Wands in this text, when viewed through the lens of ACIM, is a reminder to release the burdens we carry by recognizing them as part of the illusion. It calls for a steadfast focus on our spiritual purpose, trusting that by staying present and aligned with divine will, we will reach the ultimate goal of awakening to our true, unburdened Self.
Reflection Questions:
Certainly, here are reflection questions inspired by the Ten of Wands, through the lens of A Course in Miracles:
1. When I notice a sense of burden or overwhelm, am I willing to ask, “What am I carrying that is not truly mine to bear?”
2. In what ways might I be identifying with the ego’s voice of obligation, guilt, or self-importance, rather than listening to the gentle guidance of Spirit?
3. Can I recognize any beliefs or stories that make struggle seem necessary, and am I willing to question their truth?
4. How does holding onto burdens affect my perception of myself and others? What might forgiveness offer here?
5. In this moment, am I willing to release my tight grip on responsibility and open to the possibility of being supported by Love?
6. What fears arise when I consider letting go of control or asking for help? Can I invite Spirit to help me see these fears differently?
7. How might choosing peace instead of striving change my experience of the tasks before me?
8. Is there a gentle inner voice that invites me to lay down my burdens? How might I honor that invitation today?
Let each question be a doorway to gentler perception, where the weight of the world is exchanged for the lightness of Love.
