Seven of Wands
Archetype: A man on a steep rock swings a staff; six other staffs loom from below. This man shows the courage and inner certainty to separate himself and/or his thoughts from the group, the staffs below him. Although he is exposed to criticism because he follows his ideals, he seems determined to hold his ground instead of feeling threatened.
Lesson: The Seven of Wands symbolizes the inner journey of standing firm in one’s spiritual truth despite external challenges. In ACIM terms, this represents the courage to acknowledge and assert our divine nature, seeing beyond the ego’s illusions. The card encourages steadfastness in the face of criticism and the practice of forgiveness, recognizing that perceived threats are not real. By choosing love over fear and maintaining our inner certainty, we align with our true Self and the peace of God.
Reflection Questions:
Certainly. Here is a set of reflection questions inspired by the Seven of Wands, woven with the loving and non-dual wisdom of A Course in Miracles:
1. When I feel challenged or under attack, can I pause and notice whether I am responding from fear or Love?
2. What beliefs about myself or others arise when I feel the need to defend my position? Are these beliefs truly aligned with my Higher Self?
3. In moments of conflict or opposition, how might I invite the Holy Spirit to help me see the situation differently?
4. Am I willing to forgive myself and others for the ways we have tried to protect ourselves through defensiveness?
5. What would it feel like to lay down my defenses, even for a moment, and trust in the strength of Spirit within me?
6. How might the ego use this situation to reinforce separation, and how can I choose, instead, to remember our shared innocence?
7. Is there a deeper call for healing or understanding beneath my urge to stand my ground? What is it asking me to see?
8. If I choose to see this challenge through the eyes of Love, what shifts in my perception become possible?
May these questions guide you gently inward, where courage arises from peace and your true strength is found in unity and forgiveness.
